ISU Group Counseling Study

Groups are forming now!

Welcome!

Welcome to the ISU Group Counseling Study. This is the web site dedicated to a research study that is currently being conducted at Iowa State University. With a generous grant from the Fetzer Institute, Dr. Nathaniel Wade and his team will be investigating the group processes and interventions that are most effective for helping people overcome past interpersonal hurts.

Interested in Learning More?

In order to complete this research, volunteers are needed to participate in group counseling sessions that are designed to help people overcome past interpersonal offenses, injuries, or abuses.

Who is Eligible?

The group counseling that we are offering deals with offenses or hurtful experiences that occur in interpersonal relationships. Therefore, we are interested in working with people who can recall a time when they were offended or hurt by someone and have not gotten beyond the experience. In other words, people who are eligible would likely say that they are still angry, hurt, or upset about the event, or are still holding a grudge. If that is true for you, you may be eligible for this study

What is the First Step?

The first step is to indicate your interest in the study by contacting us. You can call (515-294-1898) or email (info@isugroupstudy.com). When you contact us, we will work with you to set up a time to come in and complete a short interview with one of our staff members and the initial paperwork and questionnaires for the study.
